You may unwind, reduce tension, and enhance your general wellbeing by practicing meditation. But what if you have a mind that is too active and won't go to sleep?

1. Start with a short meditation.

Once you're at ease, close your eyes and pay attention to your breathing. Take note of how the air feels as it enters and exits your body. You can simply watch your chest rise and fall, or you can count your breaths.

5. Don't judge your thoughts.

 

It's normal for your thoughts to start to wander when you first begin to meditate. Never criticize yourself for this. Just be aware of your ideas, then let them go. Don't attempt to make your mind completely blank.

6. Be patient.

 

It takes practice to meditate. If it's tough for you to remain still or concentrate on your breathing, don't give up. Simply continue to practice, and you'll ultimately improve.

Here are a few additional tips for meditating when you have an overactive mind:

 

Utilize a meditation guide. Online and in applications, there are numerous guided meditations to choose from. If you have problems concentrating on your own ideas, these may be beneficial.

Utilize a mantra. A mantra is something you say aloud to yourself when you're meditating. This can aid in maintaining mental clarity and preventing daydreaming.

Treat yourself with kindness. Being perfect is not necessary for meditation. It involves accepting your ideas and feelings and being in the moment. So don't punish yourself if your thoughts stray. Simply refocus your attention on your breath or mantra.

 

It can be difficult to meditate when your mind is racing, but it is definitely doable. You'll become more adept at remaining still while concentrating on your breathing over time. And when you do, you'll start to experience meditation's many advantages, including lowered tension, enhanced attention, and increased relaxation.
